Our climate commitments
Embedded within our business of delivering energy to Australian markets, we aim to do our part to protect the climate for future generations.
Amplitude Energy recognises the challenge of climate change and the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The Australian Government is a signatory to the Paris Agreement and continues to recognise the role of natural gas in Australia’s economy, and to support Australia’s transition to net zero.
Amplitude Energy’s purpose is ‘proudly part of Australia’s energy future’ and our Vision is ‘to become Australia’s progressive energy company, adapting to customer needs’. We are committed to playing our role in support of the Australian Governments’ climate commitments and legislated emissions reduction targets.
Our Climate Action Policy
Our Climate Action Policy guides our efforts to avoid and reduce emissions and support national climate goals.
At Amplitude Energy we aim to support Australia’s energy transition by:
- Recognising and advocating the important role natural gas plays in meeting Australia’s climate commitments
- Selling natural gas exclusively into the Australian domestic market, where customer emissions are captured within Australia’s emissions budget and subject to the Australian Government’s climate commitments and legislated emissions reduction targets
- Identifying and, where practicable, implementing opportunities for greenhouse gas emission avoidance and reduction within our operations and through our supply chain
- Voluntarily surrendering certified carbon credits to offset 100% of our residual equity Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions
- Measuring, reporting and setting greenhouse gas emission reduction targets that are practical and appropriate to the nature and scale of our business
- Factoring carbon pricing into business decisions and commercial models
- Identifying, managing and disclosing material climate related risks and opportunities to our business and strategy
